Education
Rabbi means teacher – and Rabbi Dan Gordon’s essence is that of a teacher. Children,
teens, college students, adults and seniors all benefit from how he blends his
knowledge with storytelling to present lessons that are entertaining and inspiring. He is
often called upon to teach about Judaism to Christian groups, like when he was keynote
speaker for a Presbyterian clergy retreat. He has led multiple Passover seders for
Christian churches. He also taught mini course at Texas A & M University in multi-
cultural storytelling, that led to a student concert at the end of the semester. Every
wedding, funeral and bar/bat mitzvah includes explanations of traditions. Annually,
Temple Beth Torah hosts “The Jewish Night of Why,” and those who are interested in
converting to Judaism – or just want some basic information mixed with philosophy –
enjoy a class called “Newish to Jewish.” As Rabbi Gordon says, “When you ask a
question about Judaism, there is rarely just one answer.”

Professional Development

Rabbi Dan’s specialty is storytelling, and he loves to guide others to bring out their own
stories. Creative expression is important in any profession. Rabbi Dan uses his own
talents and experience to help others learn the nuances of creative communication.
One of his workshops, “The Telltale Tale of Telling Tales” has been featured many times
for both Jewish and secular groups.
