About Me

Rabbi Dan Gordon is a Houston-based rabbi, teacher, storyteller, and chaplain with over 30 years of experience in roles including camp director, youth leader, university lecturer, and high school principal. Since 1998, he has led Temple Beth Torah in Humble, Texas, while remaining active across Houston’s Jewish community since 1990. He also served as part-time rabbi for Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and is a longtime volunteer prison chaplain.
Rabbi Gordon is deeply involved in interfaith work, often representing the Jewish community at interfaith events. In 2014, he was named National Rabbinic Adviser to the March of Remembrance, a Christian-led Holocaust remembrance coalition. He has joined multiple interfaith delegations to Israel and served as Scholar in Residence for a Presbyterian clergy retreat.
Since 2016, he has been a hospital chaplain at CHI Baylor St. Luke’s, where he leads a spiritual care training program called Sacred Vocations. Known for his warmth and inclusivity, he officiates life cycle events—including interfaith weddings, funerals, and baby namings—with deep respect for all traditions.
